11/7/1955 - 8/21/2017 David Lewis Dunlap passed away at age 61, after his short but aggressive battle with cancer. David was born in Santa Rosa, CA, to William Leon and Mary Alice Dunlap, went to school in San Rafael, moved to Susanville during his Senior Year, at Lassen High School. He was the oldest of five, having two sisters and two brothers. David served in the United States Navy as a supervisor in nuclear submarine propulsion. He attended college at the University of Idaho, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Technology. There he met his wife, and the love of his life for 33 years, Mary Lou Clark. He worked as a nuclear engineer at Idaho National Energy Laboratory for 16 years. After leaving Idaho, he moved to Tennessee to work for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as an Operations and Maintenance Manager. He loved his time at St. Jude and was proud of the work that he was able to be a part of while there. David will be remembered for his love of God, family and country. Those who know his best will never forget his big belly chuckle, his love and passion for music, his patience, and most of all his “dad jokes.” He is also survived by his children Katelin (Micah Black), Kristopher, Megan (Cody) Williams, Trevor (Lacy Cram), Nichole Zayac, Heather Zayac, and eight grandchildren. David was placed to rest at Camp Williams Veteran’s Cemetery in Bluffdale, Utah.
