Nancy Noleen

Cathleen d'Anne Faber Porterfield - August 8, 1955 to December 31, 2019

Cathy moved with her family to Peacock Drive, San Rafael, in 1964. Peacock Gap was a wild and expansive place for kids to enjoy then, and there were lots of us! We spent our days playing in the hills and in the lagoon, swimming at Linda Graham's or at the "swim club" (now McNear's) and taunting the boys (the girls' forts and rope swings were always the best!) Cathy attended San Pedro and Davidson schools, graduated from SRHS, and attended Chico State. She worked at Pacific Telephone for 20 years, and then assisted her husband with his construction business. They divided their time between Santa Rosa and Lake Tahoe, where they built a house to be close to Cathy's daughter and grandchildren. Cathy had coped with a rare lung disease since the age of nine, and it finally took her.  She left behind her loving husband Richard, daughter Stephanie, stepchildren Angela and Rick, two grandchildren, brother Dane and his wife Sherry, and many friends who think of her often and miss Cathy's ready smile and loony laughter. Fare you well, dear friend.

Nancy Noleen so clearly captured the years of our growing up in Marin, in the 1960s--1970s. Cathy of course was part of all the fun. I like to think of Cathy in her Song-Girl uniform, strutting her stuff with the rest of the team!
