He worked as a carpenter for many years before becoming an anesthesia technician. He was an avid runner and backpacker. He leaves his spouse Barbara Ann Wismer.

Fletcher Lesley,we ran a lot of races together,we worked a lot of jobs together,you dated my sister and in the end, we didn't speak for years.So regrettable.You were a very fast runner and I really had to ramp it up to beat you, but I usually did.Rest in peace.
