6/22/1955 – 9/17/2005 -- Philip “Phil” Arthur Noleen, age 50, of Carpentersville, WI, passed away in Kenosha, WI. He was a resident of Carpentersville for 24 years. Phil was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by everyone. Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Norma Watkins; daughter, Crystle Noleen of Carpentersville; stepdaughter, Jamie Watkins of Carpentersville.
From his sister, Nancy ... It's impossible to put my feelings about my twin brother into words, however I want to tell his story:
Phil compensated for his difficulties reading and writing by being outgoing, funny, and a risk taker. He was talented in golf, baseball, and guitar. He was remanded to the Navy after getting caught smoking pot in China Camp in June, 1973. When the judge learned he wasn't graduating from high school, he gave Phil the option to join the Navy instead of doing hard time. The Navy discovered he had dyslexia, and he earned his GED from Hawaii HS on his ship, the USS Mars. He assisted in the evacuation of Hanoi at the end of the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Japan for five years. Upon honorable discharge, he apprenticed and became an offset printer. He visited Illinois in 1981 after the birth of his twin sister's first son, and within one day, Phil met and fell in love with his Norma. He made the decision to stay in the Midwest with Norma, where he lived until his passing at the age of 50, enjoying a successful printing career, playing guitar, and devoting time to wife Norma, daughter Crystle, stepdaughter Jamie, and a huge family. His ashes are on Mt. Tam.
With a grateful heart and love forever for you, Philipo.

All, So many happy memories of Phil and younger brother Jeff playing the guitar. We worked our way through the CSN songlist, Jessee Collin Young, and many more favorites! Phil's twin Nancy, and my forever bestie, took the higher vocals,I sang the middle range, while Phil and Jeff chimed in. Quite often, our harmony was 4-part! Lest you think I am idealizing our youth-- I will add that I used to chastize both Phil and Jeff for leaving half consumed glasses of milk in the Rumpus Room.
Loving thoughts to Phil, always from Karen Schweitzer Love
