7/14/1955 – 12/2/2017 -- Vincent James Turrini, age 62, was proud to be raised one block from where his dad was born and raised in the Gerstle Park neighborhood.  He passed away unexpectedly from an acute Myocardial Infarction.  He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol Turner Turrini.  After attending Saint Raphael Middle School and San Rafael High, Vinny joined the Marin County Fire Department at age 19 and served the Department until October 2017 where routine, safety, and camaraderie were important to him.  Vinny was a mentor to many and in many ways.  Vince loved woodworking, animals, cooking, gardening, and gathering friends and family at home.  He had a strong appreciation for history, especially maritime, and loved sailing San Francisco Bay aboard the schooner Freda B.  Those who knew him will miss his humor, hospitality, and stories.  Vince was determined to help people by donating his body to the research department at UCSF, and was fiercely proud of his family and the MCFD.
